I think it would be of huge benefit to close the area to increase safety in this regard.

between the kids with no lids and the dogs running free you really need to be as aware of the surroundings as you do of the trail these days.

How do you mean close it you wouldn't need to do that just work on one trail at a time whilst keeping the others open once the work is done open it up close the next one off work on that so on and so fourth. anyway i love riding the place and i have seen a lot of features come and go in my 15yrs going there. The place has just been ridden and that dude is the only dude that works on the trails and he wont let anyone else do anything. which sucks

Na i meant close the area in so much as it becomes policed to some level, fence's and volunteer marshalling/assistance.
Trail maintenance is a touchy one as the forestry commision don't want to encourage additional visitors to the area.
god knows why it would be an increase in revenue for the area.

My thoughts are Danbury are that it's best ridden during the week. Always quiet.

I've had a near miss or two with the kids. I agree that some signage would be a good idea.

Even just some laminated paper stuck on the trees "this way only" or an arrow indicating direction.

The dog poo issue- I've always got poo on my tyre at some point during the day. I'd even go so far as to actually wonder if someone was doing this in protest at us riders. I suspect the golden labradour man who I often see.

To get out the car park with no grounding- ride the berm on the right with your right wheels, and then aim towards the left of the exit space. Do the opposite to get in. Go wide as you enter the car park area as well to avoid hidden cars.

I got in and out with minimal scraping yesterday but managed to hit the boot on the floor while pulling out into the road!

no dog poo, was busy but only a couple of minor incidents. wish the weather would continue like this for a bit longer it's so nice to ride in.
