Guys,

I currently have a 350 lbs x 3.25 stroke coil on the bouncer. Woburns fun and games made me think this is to soft as I found out my tyre put a whole in my shorts when I got home so I think I am getting the whole travel going on LOL.

TF Tuned calculator comes in at 430 for my riding weight for a Firm DH/Freeride coil

Not sure which way to go tbh (thoughts anyone?), so has anyone got a Fox fitting 3" stroke spring they dont need , either 400 or 450 that I could try or buy :D Titanium would be good  ;)

Cheers guys

What % sag is the 350 giving you mate? Slide the bottom out bumper up the shaft and get out a ruler to measure it. I have a 400 you can try out although only for a short term loan as Joel wants to try it as well.

Cheers Jon -

Comes up at 35% with it wound in 2 times, and all my rucksack gear on (thinking Alps), 29% rucksack off i.e. woburn. Suggests that I need a stronger coil but not sure if 400 or 450, do you/ anyone have any idea what the % change is for an increase of 50lbs?

Arnt the Fox ones 2.8 but some of the aftermarket ones Nukeproof 3.0 ?. I thought they were interchangable.

You can get steel Fox shocks for about £20 second hand on ebay/pink bike, you could always buy one, try it and change to a diff spring rate if it doesnt suit and sell it on for about the same price.

Ti ones are still rather sought after and pricey £80+.

Been searching (which I should have done a bit more at the beginning I know!) and found the Fox spring calculator site which is pretty good for info as you can enter differrent variables. Steering me towards two springs I think !

Cheers for all the help, much appreciated

Kind offer Damo, looking for either 400/450 x 3.25" Fox coil or a late Cane Creek 400/450 x 3" as TF tuned say they fit the later DHX. Really think I need two (geared up for Alps and lighter UK) so I am going to focus on the 450 see where that comes up and thereafter go 400 or 500 for a finer tune as it were

Not far from M25/ J25, so dependent on where you are I could drive/ or pick up at a next meet somewhere?

Thanks again
