Hey , can anybody give advice on tyre size , is it best to have the same width back and front , or larger on the back or the other way round . Most bikes come with matching but is it better to have wide on the back ( more grip ) or up front wider better steering ? :|

Most people run the same size front and rear, but if you do run a narrower tyre it goes on the rear.

Traction on the front is more crucial than the back.

I like having the front tyre slightly bigger!

Front tyre bigger, the idea being that you will have more rubber on the deck, it's easier to cOntrol the rear wheel sliding than the front washing out mid corner

Front tyre does all the steering so best get that one sorted... Been recommended to use some Continental Mountain Kings in 2.4 guise.. must say I was impressed on ride in Danbury yesterday... let some pressure out and they gripped the roots well...

I agree with Chatman, I run a 2.4 mountain king on the front and a 2.2 on the back with no probs all year.
