Hi all I'll be heading to chicksands this Saturday (10th), and hitting the snake/bull run and dual/4x anyone's fancys it I'll be there from 11ish, look out for an copper sxtrail...

Hi, this is my first post. Just wondered if there is a post code for Chicksands and would I be welcome to come and check it out? Haven't lived in Essex long and need a place to ride my Hardtail untill I can find some DH . Thanks. Pete

The post code is SG17 5QQ and when u get to the cross junction do a left and the car parks on your right hope this helps pete. U have to wear a helmet there

Yeah come down...all's welcome.... only be there On my jack...Don't know the postcode but if you goto the chicksands web site and click on getting here you can put you start adress in and it give you step by step how it get there..you can ride what you like there.. It's more dh dj 4x thou, unless you go to the other side....

No I don't think full face is compulsory.

Hi all - I'm just getting back into mountain biking again - I've just bought and built a new bike (minus a damaged rear rotor which I'm replacing tomorrow morning!) and I'm looking for somewhere to christen it

One problem...I haven't ridden for over 6 years! I used to ride a fair bit of DH and some freeride but I think I'm a little out of practice.....Do you reckon I'll be okay at Chicksands or will I...erm...die?

If you think it'll be a decent place to start - count me in - I'll drive up tommorrow!

Its a great place to get back into it - the duel really helps get the groove on!

Bit worried not buying shin/knee guards yet though....looking at the videos, it looks like the kind of trail(s) that isn't too forgiving on those that forget about their shins!

@ petay loads of people ride with just piss pots... No helmet no ride, simple...

@ alexarna I wear my knee/shingurads just becouse I have afew sketchy moments again loads of people don't wear them
As Karve says the dual help to get your groove on and the downhill tracks all have chicken runs

Just built up a Kona Cowan with Dirt Jumpers on, old Cove got nicked . First dirt ride on it .

Yeah, I was looking at vids of the tracks and the dual looks like a good introduction back to things. I hate to say but there's every chance I might be making use of some of the DH chicken runs - 1st time out on the bike (and for six years) and all!

I'll be on a red and white Cannondale Prophet. what about you?
