What do you mean conversion kit? I'm thinking of building/getting a single speed but no idea where to start. I'd like one with rigid forks, disc brakes and with clearance enough for fat tyres.

Yesterday while we were waiting at finish line to start the race I was changing words with a guy who had a single speed with rigid forks. Then, after reviewing the clip he was riding in front of me for a while until the first climb, where he started to overtake everyone. Before finidhing my last 5th lap I overtook me. So he did 6 laps faster than my 5 laps. He must have finished in the first 5 for sure.

I am putting a kit on my Marin for the winter.

Just putting spacers in the fork to bring it to 120mm and then adding one of these kits for vertical drop out frames.

If you keen I can help you out.

I just went to Online now and bought a kit.

Its not expensive, but if you wanna race SS then its best to get a decent Kit and even consider a Horizontal Drop out frame in the future.

But I will post a pic up once I am done.

How did the race go?

The race was much better than the previous one but I failed with nuttrition during race and had 1 and 1/2 laps where I struggled and didn't know why. I eventually recovered and finished strongish. 34 out of 85 not bad but still not in the first 33% best ( I should'va been 5 minutes faster. However it was a good improvement compared to round 1, where I finished 57 out of 100.

My older Bordman is being serviced in Online now. Do you think they could convert it into single speed? Told me I need new bottom bracket and fork.

I was looking at Titanium frames. I may consider racing on a ss hehe
