Hi all
i've been running Superstar components kevlar pads all year and just wanted to share how bloody good they have been, even in the mud and if anyone has been considering them, I'd recommend you get some.
Just a thought.
Cheers.

Whats the wear like?

What brake set up have you been running them in?

Avid elixir cr, 185mm up front 160mm rear. As for the wear, I would say better than any sintered pad i've tried and they are far easier to bed in too. I do run sintered on my hardtail for comuting with Hayes stroker carbons, again with 185 & 160 but will be switching over when I've used my spares up.
I originally tried the Kevlar to try and locate an annoying squeak, thinking they would be soft and may only last a couple of months, how wrong I was.
But also worth mentioning if your brakes aren't set up as best as they can be, you might as well have toffee for pads.
The best thing I also find with superstar pads is you can get a good deal when you buy more than one set and they don't have to be the same.
Cheers.

I use the sintered type from superstar and find them really good. Original oem fitted squealed loudlywhen wet but the superstars don't after warming up...

As said if pads and rotors are not aligned your get all sort of issues especially with fitting them in...

I run Hayes stroker ryder pro on my full sus and avid 3 on my hardtail both fitted with superstar sintered pads...

May have to sample the Kevlar type next time then..

Who's up for a bulk buy!!!

I ordered a bulk of 4 sintered type from them but got instead the kevlar ones, as they didn't have stock. Currently using one pair at rear brake and so far it's fine but noisy in wet (we'll see tonight in Epping ) Using Elixir cr 160mm front an rear. But I must admit I don't have much experience in brakes, pads and so

Yep, I'll be looking to buy some as need spares for mine. Can shape/type be mixed in an order as well as compound?

I ask as I have exactly same brakes as Spence but don't know what shape yours are Jamie?

I had some on my bike and they certainly arnt as noisy/squeaky as sintered ones although in my opinion dont last longer than sintered/metal ones but last longer than standard ones.

I tried all 3 types in Morzine/Les Gets and my choice would be to use kevlar ones at home for general XC/bit of DH riding and use sintered/metal ones for extreme rides (like hols in the Alps) 'coz the sintered ones really get nicely worn in and feel great whereas they never seem to get worn in/hot enough when using them here.
