Im after a bike carrier for my car, wont usually use halfords but they have one in there for £50, holds 3 bikes and fits all cars, s that any good? Whats best, all advice welcome

Thats definately cheap!
If your on a budget look at hollywood racks
If you want good quality look at Saris, theyre expensive but come with a lifetime warrenty

Yeah it does seem cheap but amazon sell them for that too, not in the sale. What sort of price are we talking about for a decent make, wanted one for the weekend but could wait for a decent one.

Saris are about £120 ish
And hollywood are from about 55 i think but i could check that!
Prices will probably vary online, Saris are brilliant though, we use one and havnt had any problems.
And like i said they come with a lifetime warrenty

For £50 its probably the strap fit one, i had it and it was awful. i took it back, spent the extra and got the metal clamp one (halfords advanced i think its called) and its excellent. holds my bike very securely at 70mph on the motorway and it doesn't cover the lights or the number plate (ford mondeo). easy to set up and folds flat. i highly recommend it.

Its £50 now, says its down from £100, so its up £10 from £40 knowing halfrauds lol, i will check now.

Yep, strap fit im afraid would a roof carrier be a better bet, they seem more secure.

I peiced together a rack, i had some thule roof bars from an old car (3 cars ago) butit turns out they're the ones i need to also fit the current hack, so i then bought a bike carrier to go on to them off ebay second hand so all good, finally went to use it the other day but the clamp wont reach my frame LOL need to work out why but its hard balancing a bike on a roof on your own trying to faff about with the upright thing !!! took it off and stored it in the garage for when i have more patients !!

get a mallet and slide the bars through the rack clamps a bit more, you'll find it just needs some wiggling about
