So I'm looking at a new frame but have not got a clue!
I want something with max of 160mm travel, and am looking at second hand!
willing to look at slopestyle frames!
Budget would be £600-700


Any ideas

I got one and love it, goes up and down equally as well.

They make some really nice freeride/slopestyle bikes?!

Nomads have been around long enough now for a 2nd hand frame in that price range I reckon.

I love mine done everything from Epping to the Alps to pretty serious freeride lines and it is nothing but confidence inspiring.

Definitely a recommendation from me.

If you are looking at 160 I would assume you are thinking of Danbury etc. Worth bearing in mind considering if you ever fancy going more downhill and further than 160 on the front and if so think about a frame that could take a 180 fork. (nomads can). There are some great 170/180 forks like the Lyric DH, Totem or 36 180.

Also look for a 1.5 head tube to anticipate you may decide on an angle adjuster headset in the future. (Nomads have)

Look on ebay for either a Commencal Furious or Supreme 8.
I have a Santa Cruz Bullit. For some insane reason they have stopped making them but you can get a complete bike secondhand for about £1000. They are single pivot (like the Orange Alpine 160) and are reliable and maintainence ia a doddle and chaep as the bearing are about £20. The pivot is also 20mm so super stiff. Only issue is that its a bit funny on chainlines as rear end is 150mm axle and the frame is also designed for 135mm. just change the dropouts (about £40)

I also have a Fox 36 Van RC2 FiT 180mm and have yet to bottom it out. Highly reccommend them. The Rock Shox are nice but spend the extra and you will get more in terms of reliability. I have also heard that getting anything done on warranty is an issue. i had to get an uprated spring and MoJo suppiled it free with my forks. Not too bad considering they are £40 on their own!.

Go hardtail.
Unless you can hit massive stuff ln a pro level, full sus is a waste for freeride.
