Not sure how Knaaarley they will be but its good to see none the less... also Duncan seemed fairly confident of a ski/bike lift being put in, in Wales in the near future.. it be interesting times.

Ah man that looks awesome!
I'd love to do a uplift day on things that a XC bike could handle!
*dreams of never riding up hill* ahhhhhhhhhh

Bit more info http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Blaenau-Ff ... -2012.html

Looks like its progressing

Quote:
It will boast two black DH runs and two freeride trails with more doubles, tabletops and berms than you can shake a stick at! All built by track building legend Phil Saxena and local firm Xtreme Trails. Add to this a fantastic minibus uplift service (which will be approximately seven minutes from the bottom to the top of the trails), two pump tracks, a jump site, a visitors centre with a cafe and showers.

Work will be completed on all facilities in early July and the trails should open even sooner! With Coed-y-Brenin, the Marin trail and Penmachno all within 15-20 minutes from Blaenau-Ffestiniog, and Llandegla 45 minutes, it will be a fantastic base for your riding - be it DH, enduro or XC.

To keep informed of progress on the trails, add Antur Stiniog to your friends list on Facebook and look out for news of a big event planned there for later on this year.

Right guys and girls, just to try and clear up how it's all going to work.......The centre will be run as a business, we have to generate revenue or it wont work, there will be no private, or own transport to uplift, and you will have to sign in to ride.
We are talking about season ticket's, and mid week season passes ( summer hours ), prices are still being discussed, also we will be thinking about the guys who want to push up and dont want a uplift ticket, if we can access a push up path to the top that wont have people walking up the track, and creating a hazzard to other riders riding down we will cater for that, and charge a minimal fee ( £5 ) a day, you will also be able to use the pump track, and jump site for that price.
Cost of the uplift will be £25, for this you will get a nice plush 16 seat minibus and trailer uplift x 2, so 30 people per day will be able to book the service ,if the demand is there we will purchase another minibus and so on.You will be able to book on the uplift through the website once it is finalised, a couple of week's tops hopefully! We ran tests yesterday and it took 7 mins to go from the visitors centre to the top of the trails, and 5 mins back down to the pick up point.
The 4 trails ( 2x black, 2 x red / blue ) will vary from 2.30 to 3.30mins for good riders, and then dependant on your ability a lot longer!! I would think that up to 15 runs is possible before your arms fall off, but we will run test uplifts there once one of the trails is fully complete, and see how many runs we can get!!
Please to not attempt to come up and ride before it open's, you will only create problems for us, if something happened to someone there would be serious implecations for us that could compromise the whole project.
On a lighter note........thanks to Andrew Dodd and the MBUK guys who came up on Wed and spent the day riding for a article going in the mag soon, all had great feedback on the trails, and I really appreciate their comments....thanks guys!!
I will try and answer any questions you have guys, and keep posting photos etc and look forward to your visit very soon.
Cheers, Adrian, aka Bud.

Hmmmmm, I'm not hugely excited about this if i'm honest after seeing that video.

Because it doesn't look like there's many techy sections, but then add to the fact it's on an open hillside, I dunno. Wouldn't want to drive all the way from Colchester for it. Maybe worth a visit if your in the area for the weekend.

If it was just like that but darting through some dense woodland, would be much better I reckon :)

This looks pretty good fun, can't help but feel they should taken it easy with the tarmac a little, but I still wouldn't complain! Also, has any human managed to pronounce the place's name yet?
