Will see how the weather is, been going to hadleigh country park on a thurs evening in the dark and getting out on the downs, pretty muddy when its wet though, meet at the park car park entry about 7:00pm and ride for about an hour round the tracks down to the railway and either off to Benfleet / Canvey or the other way along the bridal path to leigh

Jon,

Have you tried the 'Grips' ride on Tuesday nights?

Myself and a mate made it most weeks leading up to Christmas but I skipped it in Jan as was skiing last week and was saving myself ;)

Doesn't get as gloopy as Hadleigh and is good quick paced ride around Hockley / Daws Heath.

Got this back from my mate...

Quote:
Tuesday night ride happens each week normally meet at the shop at about 7:00 and they do I believe a ten mile route through hockey woods, gusted hall through to Eastwood and belfares up to hadliegh castle and back. Don't do it myself but I know most of the guys and there a good bunch fairly relaxed attitude. But pritty fit lol hence why I don't do it ha ha

I may not get there this week but weather permitting, should make next Tuesday's one.

Myself and mate ride from here over to Rayleigh to get the start (so already covered 4.5 miles), then head off with the pack over to Hockley woods, do all the loops, then over as he says to Gusted, Eastwood, Belfairs, etc.. They've never done Hadleigh since I started joining. After Belfairs, they head through Pound wood, then Tile wood, then over to the back of Sainsburys and back over the weir to Rayleigh.

We tend to break off after Pound & Tile woods, turn around and head back towards Westcliff. By the time I've gotten home in Westcliff (by the Hospital) I've usually covered about 18 - 119 miles.

Think tomorrow morning ill do a little run through Belhus woods out to Ingrebourne Hill via Celey woods, Berwick ponds and Hornchurch country park and see what the conditions are like. good for about 17 miles.

might try Thorndon Wednesday although thinking its gonna be a right old state over there now, otherwise may tag along with you Clayton if you want some company, ive never had a proper ride over Langdon...

Do the route in reverse then it will be mostly downhill :P

Eppings still awful, worse than thick gloopy mud

Jon,

I hope to be doing it next Tuesday if you fancy tagging along. We go from here, up 127 a bit, then onto Eastwood road and through to Rayleigh.

Pace differs all the time. Depends on who / how many are there. Sometimes it splits into 2 groups once all get to Hockley Carpark.
