Ouch, this has been a problem in Broxbourne Woods a few times too, came across two planks of wood with a load of nails sticking out across the trail once, too well placed to be an accident.

What kind of idiot thinks that'd be a good idea?

I can't believe some people these days, we should find out what they like doing and set a trap with a rope to injure them and see how they like it!

Apparently it must have been done in just a 2 hour time slot as the tracks are inspected every day by staff. This rider was pretty lucky!

If I saw the people doing this I'd tie a noose in the rope and hang them from it

That's awful, hope they get whoever did it, although I'm not hopeful.

Hamsterley is in the middle of absolutely nowhere, there are no local 'yoofs' who could have just been passing by. In that sort of snow it's almost impossible to get to as well (scariest drive of my life this time last year!). Someone really went out of their way to put someone else in danger :(

In MBR this month in the injuries column there's a pic of a guy who had been riding in France and a bit of wire had been put across the trail at neck height, massive gash that could of been deadly across his neck.
