Hey northern,

yep i have a froggy now, its running ok i need to replaces the pads which seems to be more difficult than it should be- any ideas? i have wrenched with a large Flathead and old pads in to try and get the pistons back whilst pumping on the leaver.

it might just need some more muscle, i will try again tonight

Is that the Code pads Tom?

Yep, I didn't try again tonight, I took my cassette off ready for the new one instead.

Codes are a nightmare - old pads and screwdriver/Allen key will get the pistons back a bit. Then you'll need to put the levers horizontal and loosen the bleed screw and try again. Mop up the dot fluid sharpish as the plastic coating doesn't like it.

You might get away without a bleed, maybe not. Don't try unless you have a bleed kit.

Alternatively, remove one side of the new pads and put the other pad and metal assembly in. Now put in the other pad using tweezers and small screwdriver from behind the pad (where the pad screw goes in). I've done it this way a couple of times.

If you need a bleed kit I've got one.

I used to be a lot like you but now I'm only me

Cool, I'm good for whatever time.. Early - Late don't mind. Are you putting the bikes in the back or on top, as I have a Thule single bike roof rack if that helps?
