Just had an interesting email arrive....

Essex County Council has been committed to developing a legacy for the Olympic Mountain Bike Track after 2012. We have also been committed to protecting the green space in Hadleigh Country Park and ensuring that any future plans are suitable for all types of user.

Our newsletter survey showed that 90% of people surveyed thought that it was important to retain and adapt the track. 63% of people surveyed also regularly use the site for walking and 87% of people thought it was important to improve visitor facilities

We have been receiving feedback from our consultation groups who had expressed an interest in developing Legacy plans for Hadleigh Farm after the London 2012 Olympic Games via our newsletter. We are now able to provide an outline proposal that explains how we are proposing that different users to the park are accommodated and how challenges and opportunities have been considered.

We would like to invite you to a drop in session to show you these outline proposals and receive your suggestions and comments before we develop the plans further.

The proposed dates for these drop in sessions are Thursday 1st March from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday 4th March from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm.

The drop in sessions will take place at Hadleigh Old Fire Station, High Street, Hadleigh, SS7 2PA. Limited parking is available.

Please respond to this email if you would to be involved in the legacy consultation sessions.

Mum lives in Hadleigh so may have to pop along..maybe on the Sunday n pop in The Castle for roast dins :)

Sounds good, they want ideas on making it useable for everyone afterwards which is great as I want some downhill, drops and jumps.

There's already a fair space to park by the fishing lakes and the country park visitor centre (although thats expensive at £5 a day !!), we need to change their thinking, get them to route the footpath around the edge and fill the middle with rideable stuff, and build a bike shop / cafe.
