Yeah,Southend on sea might be an action pack town for night life.
Boys and( gals---girls)is a nice word.I just picked it up.

I think,i found the best information for Olympic games on this Webside

From all Videos, which i saw of Essex mountainbike area, might be Danbury the best spot, which we have to visit
on our Olympic tour. :D :D

Such a single track like in Danbury, you will find a quite a few spots in netherland.
Every 30 miles ,you will find an mtb-route

http://www.mtbroutes.nl/index.php/kaart-nederland

But the UK is a new challenge for me to discover new bike spots
Yep..Echo is local paper, used to deliver it when I was young..riding about on my Rayleigh Chopper or something...and has run quite a few stories about our local Olympics :)

I went and watched the Practise Event and very impressive it was, I cycled there from my home in Southend mostly along the route I posted earlier but a bit nearer the sea (or technically River) and they had bike parks to lock your bike in that had guards and seemed reasonably secure.

There are some other local spots to Hadleigh that arnt mentioned here on the trials page such as Hockley Woods (nice ride from Eastwwod to Hockly Bull Pub), Belfairs Park, Laindon or cycle paths along alot of Southend Seafront.

Actually,he was a Dutch guy,but in a moment he is quite well.

This is the same little ramp, where another local hero tried to make an attempt.

As i said,i live 2 miles from netherland, and we use to bike every weekend up there

During the wintertime, the dutch association oraganize every weekend bike tours of 30-50 km.
In the average 500-800 biker`s take there part.

Do you have this system like in the UK?? :?
Have anybody visit Netherlands or Germany for Bike-Events??

:D In your forum you have really made me curious about your bike scene. :D

500 - 800 bikers, flipping heck..... That's a lot

We might get between 5 -15 riders on a route out of between 15 to 25 miles...

Maybe at a race weekend say from doing last years mud sweat and gears race series, was about between 100- 200 riders doing the different races....

Never ridden in Netherlands or Germany myself, some on this forum ride German bikes ( Cube )

I've recently started using this website for route mapping http://ridewithgps.com/routes/new (I use a combination of OSM cycle, maps and the satellite zoom) and also you could avoid heavy traffic using the national cycle route http://www.sustrans.org.uk/map?searchKe ... earch=Find

Hope this helps

We havn`t got a ticket either.
So,we moved our accommodation for a couple of days to Southend.and on Saturday after the womens final,we hidding up to Epping to get the underground.to london.

Been racking my brains, where i can leave for two days our bike gears in safe hands.

I haven't read all the posts, but I think I have picked up the general direction.

I am super keen on the MTB at Hadleigh but it seems to be impossible to get tickets and just as hard to get to ride on it.

I don't have any accommodation to offer, but if you just looking for somewhere near epping to leave your stuff for two days you are welcome to leave it in my garage or studio?

Went to Olympic Legacy event today, no much to report, cant say that most people there looked like typical mountain biklers, but hey..might be wrong !

There was a general consensus that the track should be joined up with exisiting routes, especially the steep 'track' thats already there, apparently naicknamed 'Murder Hill' that I never knew, that would of been my obvious idea too. Still too much mention of parts that are too challanging, I suggested not too much is removed in the sake of health and safety, also sughgested they visit Danbury as an example of what can be done (and all unofiicially too).

There is a walking tour/consultation of track on March 17th which Ive signed up for, not sure how you can sign up but tyheres prob an email addy somewhere.
