Out doing the usual Hadleigh downs probably ending up at Leigh railway station after picking our way randomly through any available trail we stumble across, extremely light hearted easy going although can be a slog if its really wet

meeting at the Hadleigh Coutnry Park car park entrance at 7:00pm ride for about a hour i guess ?

I'm giving Hadleigh a wide berth until ti dries up a bit Dude.. Just so much clay over there, hard work when wet.

If it's dried a bit by the weekend I may try to get over there for our Weekend morning ride though

Yeah everywhere is still really sloppy, will see where we go when we meet at the gate, dont feel i'm up to the Grips route yet as that's a bit more involved, but i'm definately getting there one ride at a time, We got covered in it last Wed so will see what happens tonight.

fancy digging some jumps in that run down to the metal gate from the top of the hill ?? would have to be a covert night operation i think though :o./

 Madman... That's a hairy enough sprint down to the gate (if you're talking about the one just over from the bench where there are a couple of muddy slopes with channel down the middle and then into the long grassy run to the gate).

I've managed to catch a couple of choice humps to get a bit of air from on a couple of occasions :D

We got pretty muddy doing Hockley last Sunday morning but at least it's not the damn clay like Hadleigh. Last time we rode there in the wet, the stuff just sticks to the bike everywhere, building up and getting heavier and heavier.

Even if you don't come for the Grips ride, maybe we'll organise a night trip around the route on another evening, just the few of us, without the normal pace / pressure.. I've not done it since before Christmas anyway but will probably pop along again soon.

Yup well up for that, my mate at the shop said "jeez they're all pretty fit hope you're up for a kicking!" so i've been trying to get fitter in general just to make sure, plus i have the ride to the shop and back to stick on top of the route, maybe in a few weeks, but with a trial run without the 'newbie' pressure would be great !

and yes thats the place i reckon a nice double would work, hairy... very !!!

Wasn't too bad, certainly not as bad as last wed! There we're parts when it was like trying to control a ball bearing on an ice rink but mostly it was ok, a little muddy and a rubbish head wind on the ride home.

Posted from my phone ' cos I can't wait to get to a PC!

Good on ya for getting out.

Weather today looks great... but too much on to be able to get out. Gotta save myself for Sunday morning's jaunt.

Took a slightly different route last night and hit the clay section from the station, we're normally on the other side of the railway by the creek....

runkeeper for wed 29th feb

managed 35mph on the way home down church hill LOL

Think I might join you on Tuesday if you don't mind... Gonna skip the Grips one for a bit..

Also, me and a mate are looking at heading over Hadleigh on Sunday morning too if anyone is about..

Probably gonna head out nice and early (maybe about 8am), do the various woods over to Hadleigh, then do the Country park, Castle, etc.. and if legs up to it, maybe even then head over Hockley direction afterwards..
