Im thinking of going tubless but have to many questions.

Im looking to get some hope pro 2 sp with either mavic 721 rims and go getto tubless or 823 rims and go with ust.

Obviously the hole ust system is pretty easy to set up but hope dont do straight pull hubs with these rims so it would be a custom build, and ust tyres allways seem to be higher price, or getto tubless with the 721 rims. This just seams like a lot of hastle for little weight saving. I know its really about the rotational mass, but after sealing up the rims and adding sealent how much wight do you really save?

I also ride downhill/jumps/drops mostly and while im not the worst i definatly lack a little finnes sometimes, so how dose tubless take to be bashed around?. Will they start burping air if i start rolling drops on them ?

Dont quote me on this, but if they're sealed, they're sealed i'm not sure what it takes to break the seal but i've read alot of people are running tubeless (one form or the other) so they can avoid pinch flats and run low pressures so i'm guessing a heavy landing will make little odds to them ??

It doesn't matter what you ride

Right.
If your going to go tubeless and do jumpy droppy stuff, dont mess around with ghetto. the tyres wont seat correctly and the potential to roll off will be that much higher.
Tubeless isnt all about being lighter, sometimes it is, sometimes it isnt depending on tyres and set up choice.
it stops the pinch flats and thorns etc.

Nice one thats good to know. I have no problem with tubes, im not afraid of a bit of weight and touch wood i get one flat every couple of year whatever i ride, Ive just heard that it gives more "feel" and makes for sharper handling because of the change in weight distribution.

Was looking at hope pro 2 evo laced straight pull to mavic 721. Should be pretty heavy duty, but im unsure wether straight pull is worth it. Being honest i just like them because they look trick, but id rather have a solid set of wheels. My friend runs a mavic wheel set and spends forever having the hubs pissed about with although theve staid true...

I think it's easier to get replacement j spokes than straights and I've got Hope Pro II with Ex721 rims, the Alu free hub is a little marked up but nothing that stops it from working. Just need to ensure you run a cassette with an aluminium carrier too.

Feel like a bit of a ming mong asking this, but just a thought, I'm about to go tubeless via a stans conversion, with all the complications that seems to bring, so, when i take my bike on my hols i've got to deflate the tyres for the flight. Will I have the same difficulty getting them to hold air when i reach my destination, or will they stay sealed? Don't really want to take half a workshop with me just to get my tyres to pump up!

Hmm, that's tricky. Depends how hard they are to get seated? And once you've sealed them once its a lit easier second time around.
How are you going to do it? Track pump or compressor?
