Think I might join you on Tuesday if you don't mind... Gonna skip the Grips one for a bit..

Also, me and a mate are looking at heading over Hadleigh on Sunday morning too if anyone is about..

Probably gonna head out nice and early (maybe about 8am), do the various woods over to Hadleigh, then do the Country park, Castle, etc.. and if legs up to it, maybe even then head over Hockley direction afterwards..

Of course !!! Its part of the reason we changed to Tuesday's then when we feel up to it maybe after doing our own grips route a few times mixing it up with the lycra boys ?? Very nearly ended up going to Epping this Sunday morn but have been told i need to go to a flipping wedding fair in Rochford...... :wtf:

Next Tues 7:00pm at the car park entrance.

Hahahaha... I always need to get out and back to still have most of the day to do stuff with the kids, etc...

Also, this Sunday the forecast looks to get showery in the afternoon so the morning might be ok :)

Grand.. From memory, I've not been down that road....

The marker on GoogleMaps you supplied on first page, is StreetView up-to-date for there? Do you just meet by the gate?

I'll send you my number through PM in case.. :)

Yeah its up to date and yes just by the gate, the car park is closed normally but there are walkers swing gate things to negotiate, got lucky last week as the main gate to the top field was open so we made it all the way down to the fire road without stopping (simple things please me....)

Other good places to start are near Benfleet station,

here > http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=57 ... 85903&lm=0

Go through gate and turn left.

Or a bit further, here > http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=57 ... 85901&lm=0

Turn left to go on firetrack route or turn right and down steep drop and then left to get on nice single track.

Both of these are a very steep ride (or push if youre me) from Benfleet station but at least you have the satisfaction of beinghigh up and look forward to a bit of DH for a while.

Or even here > http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=58 ... 86052&lm=0

Quite a nice steep DH run straight down or Ive noticed there is now also diaganol run now across the fields then joins up with the existing track.

The first 2 are completely the other end for me as I'll be coming from by the Hospital..

The last one is en-route for us as I'll be meeting my mate by Chalkwell park and heading West from there....

We ride to one of these points but from the park entrance. there's a bench there we stop to get our breath and have a drink.

I ride up from Benfleet, my mate rides there from Westcliff so its in the middle,

Lately we normally head across the downs then hang a right and follow the fire track to the end chuck a left through a stye and down some steps and out to the bench near(ish) the station then head back along the fields back to the downs.

sometimes we go down across the first field and then left and up and round the track (walk up most of it LOL) and across to that cool downhill part with the gulley in it (murder hill ?), follow that down to the railway or if we're up for it follow the path back up and around for another go !

Been playing with Google maps a bit and draw a route of sorts where we normally go (when wet) when dry we hit Murder hill (lovin' that name) but i've seen a possible new longer stretch down to the railway that may be cool too ???

Feel free to draw all over the map to add stuff if youlike !
