Was supposed to ride Thorndon today, but after a late night, I didn't get out of bed until almost 10 o'clock. So quick phone call to my mate, bike loaded on the car and I'm off to Canvey to ride one of his favourite treks from his house, that I've never done before..... We basically rode along the creek out of Canvey to the bottom of benfleet, then followed the creek all the way down to the cockle sheds at old Leigh, then up on the road to chalked end of Southend. From there we went back on ourselves, but left the road just past leigh station and single tracked it all the way to Hadleigh Castle, which has an epic hill climb!!!! After a 15 min break, we then rode the fire trail back down to the bottom of the hill all the back to the creek, and made our way back into Canvey...... In total, clocking up a mixed terrain 17.5miles.

Loved it, really good ride...... So, if anyone ever wants a break from the usual.Thorndon or Langdon rides, let me know and I'll organise a ride

Loads of good single track round the downs/shipwrights/thundersly glen area. That's a nice ride u did

Oh yeah it was great.... It's was just on of them where I thought it was going to be a boring flat ride, and ended up being amazing, to the point where i was almost beaten, LOL.

Sounds like a good one.
Think I would have stopped at Billet and some seafood over way

Did think of stopping for a SF platter...... but my mate was determined to keep going until we got to Chalkwell beach end.
