Although ther course does 'break out' from the Salvalation Army land and use a small bit of the exisiting Country Park singletrack but I expect you wont be able to access that come the event :(

Hi Southend guys.
I momentary stuck with google earth.
So i recognize the Castle Ln Road and the Castle Ave road (Castle house) a little Lake is up the left hand side
Close to the lake is the footpath 2011 from the salavation army
From The castle lane ,i can see the Watchtower.and many square symbols.
My question:Is the Olympia Track by the Watchtower??? :high5:

The track is on the field below the lake.

The 'Watchtower' you mention is part of Hadleigh Castle, the original intention was to have track through there but it was though it would damage castle ruins too much, so the current track doesnt go that far. many of us still ride that route though.

http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/days ... gh-castle/

At the southern edge there is a railway line, above that there are some 'squares' (photos) in a line, this is the 'murder hill' bit and the closest around here to downhill, the very top of it joins up with the steep rock drop I posted photo of.
On the middle photo on google earth you can see someone riding.

I believe the aim of the legacy after the event is to join it all up, I was due to go there today to discuss this but Ive had to work and the weather is horrible anyway.

Came across this site http://wam.castlepoint.gov.uk/WAM133/fi ... ion=Search it is the planning application for the course and has diagrams of the course plus some amusing letters objecting, one from a woman claiming to have been knocked over 3 times by cyclists already,hhmm..I find that very hard to believe.

Evening Lads :)

Me and Tony fancy Hadleigh again tomorrow night if you're up for it?

We planned on going through Belfairs, Pound Wood, Tile Wood, over to West Wood, then up the road to the college, dive into and through Shipwrights, then down the steps into Hadleigh Park just to the right of where you guys took us down the long grassy start 2 weeks ago.

Fancy it?

If so, how does 6:45 at Chalkwell Ave top corner of Park sound to meet Tony, then up to meet me at Old Vienna for 7?

Cheers,

Ev

Cool will try to get there, but to be honest making Hadleigh for 7 is a huge rush for me, might drive to Marco's instead.

Posted from my phone ' cos I can't wait to get to a PC!

Cool Jon.. I had assumed you'd be doing that anyway ;)

We can take you the scenic route then :)

I'd say later but it has such a knock-on effect and get's mighty cold once the night starts to set in.

Either that or, if too tight, could meet us en-route somewhere like outside Little-Havens or something?

I should be able to get to marco's in time as i normally ride to Hadleigh, that takes 20mins otherwise its a case of leaving the car somewhere where i'll be able to get back to it, presuming we end at Leigh station again ?

Wherever really...

We'll be coming back that way and up to Chalkwell Park, etc.. If it makes a difference, we could shift it to 7 at Chalkwell Park corner, then 7:10 - 7:15 at Old Vienna to give you that bit of time to get to Marco's?
