So I am buying a new bike for my NZ trip and am considering upgrading my wifes bike too.

I am looking for recommendations on Women's hardtails at around £500, preferably with a link to some super deal on the web I have been unable to spot. I am not interested in 2nd hand as it needs to be spotless for shipping to NZ.

I have considered so far the Specialized Myka and Trek Skye ranges.

Would be good to get some form of suspension fork and shimano hydraulic brakes (to fit with servicing all my shimano hydraulic brakes)

Cheers
Joel

Her choice would be based on colour so at the moment she is very happy for me to make the decision

Picked up a 2011 Myka Elite for missus, you might be able to get one for £500 or so. It has Shimano hydraulic discs and the XCR shocks are much better (lighter and better damping) than the crappy XCT and XCM forks on the cheaper Mykas.

The Carrera women's range has been very good, my wife got a Vulcan for £250 and after upgrading a few choice components it's now an excellent ride.
