I've noticed that when jumping my bike and not landing overly hard the o ring on my fork stantion is right up the top, its there pretty much after every ride to be honest, the forks dont actually bottom out (at least i don't think they do) so i've been toying with the idea of switching the stock spring (assumed medium) to a firm spring, the guy a TF tuning said i should bottom out the fork first, i weigh just under 13st so should i say stuff it and replace the spring or just hang on until the one in there is knackered and it really does bottom out ?


can you tell i'm itching to do something with the damn bike !!!

I'd be inclined to change it.
it would be ideal to check the spring out prior to buying one though.
is there a serial number on them? perhaps rockshox could tell you which is fitted?

They're easy to pop out, its a Sektor U-Turn 140mm so i can just undo the top and and loosen then tap the bottom up. I do plan on checking it out first, it appears i'm boarderline weight for medium / firm springs so i think a firmer one would be better right now, if i loose any weight then i may have to change it back. (but that may be wishfull thinking!)

Is that inclusive of clothing and kit ?
it may be that which is tipping you over the scale ?

i had to up the weight on my rear shock spring to compensate.

i probably weigh in about 95+ with all the gear on.

i think i was 100+ with all the mud the other day!

God damn it, i just ordered a firm sping from tf tuned, damn these idle fingers !!!

It arrived on Friday, they sent the worng one.... not impressed.

TF Tuned, all they do is suspension, the package with the spring inside was clear, there was a big red paint line down the coil indicating Medium firmness, the label on its package had a big M drawn on it and the serial no had been amended too......

how hard is it :O/

Righty ho then people, puzzle me this.....

I fitted the uprated coil and it felt great... whilst over Danbury last night i pulled a epic endo dropping into one bomb hole, how i didn't go over the top i'll never know but the result was a really floaty soft front end ?? The forks (Sektor U-turn 140mm) have a compression adjustor which i normally have set to 2 clicks away from locked off (locked off provides about 10-20mm of travel) and as far as i'm aware this system has some sort of blow off valve incase you hit them hard, as i did, do they need resetting or should i just pull them apart to see whats inside, i'm quite happy to dismantle and rebuild them but thought i'd pose the question here first, i'm off to search the web for possible reasons and if i find anything i'll post here to share, but if anyone has any ideas please post as that will also help gather info on this !

but it doesnt seem to match up to my forks, i have the motion control (well i have the sticker at least) i have the height adjustment (black), rebound adjuster (red) and a compression adjuster (blue) but no flood gate control (silver)

Need to do a little more investigation.


**EDIT... it seems that there may be an allen bolt hidden in the center recoil adjuster, will take a look when i get home and see what it does, may need to wind it out to accomodate my fat arse.

Just to clarify that is an instruction sheet for "mission control" not "motion control" perhaps the issue with the missing dial?

Have you tried pumping the air side back up ? i wonder if a blow off valve means it drops the pressure ?
