Hey Mark,

Great that you have the e-petition. I find it quite hard to get up there weekend daytimes so have missed you on several occasions. The work on widening the drop-off is great!

Point worth considering on the petition - might be worth asking for a postcode - councils and the like love to know how 'local' the support is. Might be worth changing the headline image for one with a rider wearing a helmet! Looks better for the powers that be.

Best of luck and keep the updates coming!

Phin

Hey guys,

What's the latest with this? We'd be willing to help. It's near our MTB suspension workshop in East Bergholt !

Will.

There’s not been much going on over there for a while. The trouble is that even in a normal winter it disappears under water, so you can imagine what it's like this year! It’s certainly seems to have dampened the enthusiasm (pun intended).

Lol! Know what you mean! I think we should start doing boats instead of bikes! Shame that nothing is happening on this though, there's a serious shortage of places to ride downhill around here!

What are the conditions like at Aston Hill or Chicksands at the mo?

That's very interesting news, I'll check out the FB page.

Sussedout - Chicksands is always a good bet in the wet as it drains well. Aston Hill in the wet is a whole different matter. All that steep rooty chalk is as slippery as you like, so you'll need you skills dialled if you want to stay upright!

Signed the e-petition and linked it FB to see if it can drum up more signatures.

Just seen this... sounds like a brill thing for colchester riding any help you want just shout...... Went up to Halstead woods yesterday.... wet is an understatement! only a couple of the bits rideable... managed to spend about 2 hours there in the rain before giving up.... Its a shame the state of it up there with rubbish just chucked everywhere and evidence of fires etc just round the jumps.....
