Ok,got the Stans kit yesterday, Hans dampf tyres turned up today. Put tyres on rims with tubes and pumped 'em up real hard to get the kinks out etc, gonna leave them a day or two.

Try putting a tube in and getting the tyres seated that way, maybe leave them a day to get the kinks out, then take one side of the tyre off, and fit valve and inflate and then sealant. Sounds easy like that :wink:

I'm almost fully convinced tubeless is the way to go after my trip to Wales, not an issues at Cwmcarn and I began letting air out to get more grip and FOD I ended up with 15psi in the tyres and not an issues.

Spent yesterday evening struggling to fit the WRONG rim strips. Turns out I got the freeride kit, not the standard one. #fail. Teach me for buying off fleabay and not asking the pertinent questions. Ordered the correct strips from crc, so if anyone wants the freeride (32mm wide ones) just pm me.

If you tyres are rotational << rear front >> make shure on right way.

Learn by others mistakes ;-)

UST (universal sustem tubless) tyres need a UST specific rim + rim strip as they have a larger square bead that slips into the ust rim strip. we proved this on saturday when we tried to seat a UST nobbly nick onto Bontrager TLR rim + TLR rim strip.
Tyre popped off the rim at about 60psi as it needs the UST rim strip to hold the square bead in place.
I must add, UST Nobbly nick, what a nasty tyre!!! The first one to defeat me, only down to a non compatibility issue though!

Got the right rim strips now, and i'm going to fit them now. I've had a few glasses of wine, so it might not go to plan lol. :crazy:

Yippee both wheels now tubeless, no leaks, see if they're still up in the morning. Front tyre was a doddle, rear was a bitch, pumping like mad with a floorpump eventually got it to seal.

Unbelievable! can't remove the rear Swchalbe Racing Ralph UST 2.1 tyre and can't find solutions in the net. On my way to the shop to buy rear tyre and be charged for removing the Ralph. What a disaster. Any solution? It's my first time trying to change a tubeless tyre.

Spent the bloody whole Saturday either trying to pump it up and later on trying to remove it. Failed. I thought of ripping it with a knife but the guy in the shop told me to sit down and relax, wait for Sunday morning and that's all.Today this morning in the bike shop after some effort we managed to remove it. Now I'm back to the Mountaing Kings Race Sport 2.2. very easy to do it but had to do the whole process from the very beginning. Clean the glue from previous mechanic, rim tape, etc...easy! I don't want UST Ralphs at all.

An adult...you mean someone taller than me? :p

So I have just fitted a DT Swiss tubeless kit to the rear wheel, followed the instructions exactly (except I made the tyre wet and did the initial pump with a CO2 cart).

I let the CO2 out, poured the latex into the tyre via where the valve went, pumped it back up with the track pump, watched the latex block the holes in my tyre and then took it for a quick spin (as per instructions).

However, I've just gone to try and pump the tyre up a little more and no air will go into it, I've removed the valve and no air would come out! Is this a case of just leave it overnight for everything to settle and poke a small screwdriver down to see if the hole has blocked with latex?
