I was shown this years ago. Basically remove the shower caps next time you stay away for the night then cover both your discs and callipers. This helps avoid contamination.

TESCO bags do exactly the same effect... And you get a nice blue stripe.. Would match your bike ;-)

Is a good tip to cover your brake disks..... Also another one is not to use WD40 near any suspension seals.. It'll eat them away... Teflon spray is good as with GT85

Really? i thought WD40 was non-synthetic so was fine for seals ? i've never had an issue, learn something new everyday though.

In my real world that i live in, i have never covered/protected my brakes from water whilst washing and never had a problem, i have also never directly sprayed oil/lube/wd40 directly over them LOL

It's fine to spray water all over your disks and pads whilst cleaning it, as when your out of the bike that's what gets sprayed all over it anyway..

It's the fact to cover them if your a little exuberant with the bike spaying polish afterwards if wheels are still attached... I always remove my wheels after cleaning the bike down.. clean frame and gears first then clean wheels off and gear cogs, wipe brake disks with break cleaner or equivalent and then re-fit back onto bike. Jobs a goodun

If you spray the polish onto your cloth and wipe rather than onto the bike direct you also avoid any spillage/ misfires/contamination.

but i dont polish my bike LOL
