is there a way to get from morzine to chatel and champery on dh bike?

Deffo - and have done it many times. Take the super then the zore chair lifts up - then traverse across - then down to les lindarets. From there you can plot a course across to either

It takes a while to get to Champery but there are some superb tracks on the way out and back - dont do it on a bad weather day however.

On the way back dont do the road back from Avoriaz - retrace your route and do the super runs from from the top of the zore charlift - they are superb and run you right back into morzine

No worries

I found this super hi res map here
http://www.hofnar.com/wp-content/upload ... ng-map.gif

Image

well worth a look it lists all of the official tracks in the PDS......its 2012 as well and super hi res - stoked with that find - whoop! Right click save as to get all the detail.

So yea if you take the super and then the zore out of morzine you will see the traverse across to col de la joux verte.... the traverse is a bit of a pain but no more than 10 mins. When you rejoin the road you will see a track off to your left at the road t junction.. that takes you down towards the lindarets lift.. when you go under the lindarets lift you can...

Carry on towards the Mossettes lift which will take you towards the Swiss tracks running down from Pointe De Mossette. They are superb rocky and fast. This is also the route out towards Champery and towards the amazing Morgins

Drop down the bottom of the lindarets lift and session the excellent french national tracks which run underneath that.

Drop to the bottom of the lindarets and then head up the Chaux Fleure which takes you to the top of the Chatel bike park!

All frikin good options

In my book by far the best riding in the PDS is the stuff mentioned above. Easily 2+ weeks worth. To add to this the route home will take you down the runs on the super which are superb - there is a good run under the super morzine even though its not marked. If you cant be arsed with the traverse back you can roll home from les lindarets via Lac de Montriond for a swim and a chill.

heading out that way is usually a fairly long day and to make the most of it you will need to be getting on the super bubble no later than 9.30.

Awesome!

Excellent link, 99% of the versions on the net are too low res to see anything !.

Thats the same as the one on the reverse of the PDS map you can buy but does show new 2012 stuff, it has various 'new' blue runs on Pleney that arnt on my map.

A dip in Montriond lake is quite fun but a bit chilly.......... As suggested check lift times, some guys last year very nearly got stuck in Switzerland !..they got last cable car with seconds to spare.

Just a couple of questions before booking up. :)

-the first days riding is the 22nd July, is that your plan too Joost?
-last day riding 27th July?

Anyone planning anything outside of those dates as im looking at going for a few extra days.

Lift passes:
Are all lift passes for 6 days?
Are they valid on all lifts/chairs etc?

Thanks for the maps.

Hi.

Yep....will be there lateish sat 21st so first day will be 22nd.

Passes are for 6 days, although you can also buy 6 non consectutive days, meaning you can use it in 6 days in total, and perhaps occasional days off when you dont use a lift, (I could of done this lat year as one day just had a ride to Montriond n didnt use lift).

You can buy individual days, last year we didnt leave till late on Sat, so had 7 days, luckily Paul who runs my bruvs chalet had some day passes he let us have cheap, so we had about another half days riding on that last day :).

They are valid for all PDS France/Swiss as shown on map above.

Heres the price list.

Below the main one there is also prices for single/multiple trips but appears to be just Pleney/Nyon only.

http://www.avorinet.com/lifts/summer/prices.html

You can also get very cheap MultiPass thingie thats like 2 euros a day which you can use for Swimming Pool and lifts without a bike.
