The smaller drop used to be a ladder as well, but it was ripped out completely and a dirt one built instead. the big drop last time I looked had most of the slats missing. cool if its ridable again though

Yeah looks like it (assuming the is the drop into Bull Run) - I don't remember the logs on top, was a bit of green carpet last time I was there (last year!) so a little bigger and as Karve says, looks like more of a pit in the gap now.

I was up there not to long ago and the larger of the two ladder drops was closed off. Was talking to a couple of guys and they said it is meant to be getting built up similar to the smaller due to health and safety having their usual paddy and then will be rideable again. Please don't take that as gospel though.

Where is the wooden wall ride? i've never seen it there but then again only been a couple of times.

Spoke to one of the guys that built the chickshore last time i was there, its due to insurance reasons its all been taken down, their provider doesnt cover man made obstacles (even though the whole place has been 'man dug' but you get what i mean)

the wall is still there but i believe thats all thats left of it. there are piles of wood and sections that you can help yourself to, to make your own shore should you want to.

Well my first ride at aston hill was interesting, previously i had said ill be fine on a 140mm bike at aston as i had already done other dh runs no problem, what could be so hard about it?

i thought the drops were gonna be my enemy but nope they were the best bit, the slippery roots and sheer steepness of it defeated me.
Better brakes would of helped ( a lot) but i think i have now have found the limit of what my bike can do and am ready to get a dh bike for shizzle like this.

went to woburn after for a couple of hours whilst we were up that way and found a couple of nice trails but wasnt too keen on the place as too many big gap jumps.

off to danbury tomorrow morning :D

I love weekends.
