Hiya

I just bought a set of 661 rhythm knee/shin pads as they offer a certain amount protection to the calf as well as the shin, however having worn them today I can confirm they are pony, so they are now listed on eBay

Can any suggest a knee/shin pad that covers the calf as well, I quite like the 661 rampage but cant see if they have anything other than Velcro at the back. I have looked at nuke proof but they seem only to have Velcro at the back

I know dan424 has 661s that fit the bill but he was unsure of he model and they look different to he rampages

I hope to be popping into romford later so will try cycles uk and cycle surgery to see what hey have to offer

Thanks

Stephen

Get the nukeproof knee n shin, i have been through 4 different sets of various makes 661, troy lee etc and these are easily the best

unless u have rugby player legs get mediums as the large are quite spacious.

I really like my 2012 661 Rage, fit great and comfy, no uncomfy/rubbing bits and they strap/velcro at the front which is nice. They look softish but have a hard shell underneath. (these are knee only though)

The rythymn ones do look a bit odd, like lycra with a very thin pad at front, I had the new 661 Riots for my elbow but too thick, unflexible so put them, on ebay, and bought Thor ones from CRC which should hopefully be thinner more flexible.

Hi Steve, Checked on the packet they came in and they are 661 4x4 however, it looks as they were discontinued a long time ago and are no longer available

Cheers for that dan,

I was a little bit out of my depth on Sunday, I think I need a bit more experience, may just stick to the downhill runs for the next while

Haha! What does that say about my legs?!? I've got the XL ones and they are tight on me! Ok, ok, I'm 18 stone but it's my upper body that's fat, not my legs!!!

Ok I think I'm gonna get the nukeproofs

I'm 6ft 2 and 14.5stone with average unsporty legs (what ever that means...)

Medium or large, although I thing CRC allow free returns
