Im planning a week long trip to wales at the end of the month and have finnaly given in the the posibility that the welsh weather might not let me get away with my usual minion/highroller combo, and that unless i want to spend all my time on my arss a set of downhill/freeride tyres for the wet might be a good idea.

I was just going to go for swampthings but then found these which look similar if not a bit more aggressive, http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/TYGXDTFT/ge ... lding_tyre

there not duel ply but ill just run dh tubes in them and there a little skinnier than i like, but that can only help in the mud. Also at that price who can argue

I just thought id put a shout out and see if anyone has any experiance with them as i seriously tempted. any oppinions are good or just on mud tyres mud tryes...

i just dont want to buy a dog, as a cheep dog is still dog

Where are you planning to ride in wales?
The trail centres i've ridden dont need anything as gnarley as them in the wet, i would suggest something far more low profile?

No reall plans yet. making a list of places to hit and then seeing how it all plays out. Probobly head to Triscome and Tavistock and see how the riding is around exmore, then up to wales for the forrest of dean, affan, maybe cwmcarn. Id like to spend a couple of hours hiking up snowdon for a ride down, but that will largly depend light/weather conditions as your not supposed to ride before 5 in the afternoon.

Minions are good to a point, but these are supposed to be a just in case. If it pisses down and gets swampy ill put them on otherswise ill stick with the regular setup
