Helloo,

So im thinking of going to full sus but before I do I want to do some work on my current specialized Rock Hopper.

Anyone got any suggestions of good website to buy parts and even any good parts you can recommend that would be great.

Cheers!

Nearly all my parts for my DH full suss bike came from either:-

Pink Bike, Ebay and Chain Reaction.

Oh and Superstar.

And if you want a good full susser, i know a lurvely one for sale nice and cheap!! :)

Seriously though, as Andy said, i always use Chain Reaction and eBay mostly, with the odd trip over to Pedal On, Super Star and Pink Bike (for second hand). ;)

Also http://www.merlincycles.com are pretty competitive on some parts. Always looking on the buy/sell part of singletrackworld http://singletrackworld.com/forum/forum/classifieds.

And sometimes Jensons in the states can be good especially for hard to find parts and they often have good sales, but you need to buy a few things at a time and add postage (and possible tax) to see if it works out cheaper.

Yep, I'm another big fan of Merlin. Got loads of bits from them when I built my Spesh.

I would ask yourself to what end are you doing it up ?

a rock hopper is a low end entry level model

as with cars etc modifications add hardly anything if anything to the resale price so don't go spending all the money in the world and end up with a bike you can only sell for the £200 when you want to upgrade.

if you are after a better bike you are better putting upgrade money aside and only carrying out essential works to the bike.

You would be amazed at what a good service will do to it! change the cables, true the wheels, new brake blocks if they are needed... just a few things that will make it run sooo much smoother!
