Aside from racing the SixSixOne Gravity Enduro offers a packed pit area which has:

•Demo rides for family/friends while you are racing

It does seem expensive and I hadn't noticed it was £60. It only makes sense when you compare it to other events....

Races like Aston hill are run on one track with one set of marshals and within a confined space. They can use beam breaking timing technology for the results. They cost £22+5 to enter - (I think that was the last fee which I thought was steep but I know that they don't make any real money on these races)

Enduro races are split over essentially 5 tracks which means 5* the timing equipment /marshals/medical teams and organisation. They also need to use chip timers rather than beam breakers like aston and porc which are more pricey to hire. Also I imagine the fee for getting a weekends use of a place like Afan is more than it costs at Aston or Porc. Im not entirely sure of the format, and im sure they can shuffle the gear and people around so they don't need 5* everything, but the logistics of these events are a lot more than a race on one track.

Thus it costing 2-3 times as much as a one run race kinda makes sense.

Still.... £60 is a lot to splash on a race for sure.

I fancy giving a few of these a go - seems like the perfect motivation for skills and fitness training over winter and spring, and perfect Nomad territory.

£60 seems steep but I am a believer in you get what you pay for.

Long drive i know but the Innerleithen one is definately on the list
