Ashamed as I am to admit it, my brother is a roadie, and although I've tried to convince him to get a real bike he's not having any of it. Therefore I'm in need of some tyres with a bit less rolling resistance than the 2.5" dual ply numbers I've currently got on my hardtail to put up even a hint of a fight against his flimsy carbon thing.

It's not an area I really know much about, and there seems to be a vast choice, from the ultra-cheap to the really quite expensive. They'll be solely for road use (his poor little featherweight would snap just looking at anything remotely rough), does anyone have any personal experience to draw on? Cheers,

Family shame

they worked wonders no resistance, not alot of weight, only problem is no puncture protection so i got a few...

i know a few guys who did london to brighton and had no problems.....

Bontrager do a complete slick but they are pritty thin. I would use a schwabie city jet for a complete road or the schwalbie hurricane as a semi slick the both have got some puncture protect in them. Conti city contact are also a good choice. If you want to splash the cash and have the best puncture protect go for the schwalbe marathon plus those things are nearly bullet proof.
