So, go one of these http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/frame-forks/forks-shocks/rockshox-suspension-forks/2012-rockshox-revelation-rlt-15mm-axle.html yestarday (price has gone up £10 since!) and on taking them out of the box today I noticed this:

weird marks on the rear of the left stanchion. You can't feel the marks. just wondering if anyone else has seen them on RS forks before?
Also:

This is the right rear of the crown and again is not on the surface but appears to be under the final coat. You can only see it when the light catches it in a certain direction (took a while to get a photo it would show up in). Not really what I expect of forks that normally retail around £500. Can't contact Merlin over the weekend as they're shut but would you send them back or is this nothing to worry about and I'm just being picky?

Yeah they're supposedly brand new. I can send them back under the normal terms whether they are damaged or not. Will have to speak to Merlin on Monday as I need a replacement pretty quickly.

Yeah I would send them back. If I'd paid for brands new forks, then i'd expect brand new forks when I opened the box.

IF they were at a bargain knock down price then I'd probably not be as concerned.

Its worth at least sending them an email with the pictures in to ask whats it about

Personally I would send them back as the coating on the forks looks to be damaged and they may rust in time possibly , better to completely happy I reckon

Call them and also send them the photos and state goods received not in satisfactory condition as advertised (sale of goods act) and ask for another set. Always good to back up with the photo claim. If the original advert says they are marked then that's why if not your due a refund or newer set.

Cheers guys. Will give them a buzz in the morning. I'm going to try and get them to pay for pick up and then buy another set at the same price. Thought the photos would be handy. Will have to take one of the serial number too. I don't expect Merlin to create a fuss, they're usually fine.
