On sunday at danbury I came off my bike oddly, what actually happened was after landing the hip jump, I lost control and fell away while still holding the handlebars, the handlebars whipped away while i was still clinging on yanking my right shoulder directly away from my body.

It didnt hurt so much at the time just felt like somebody trying to pull my shoulder out its socket, I carried on riding an hour or so after, its now wednesday and it feels worse, in places of moving my arm it feels sharp and movement is restricted, I keep trying to rotate it but it doesnt seem to flex it out or make it any better.

Anyone else had a similar injury to this? and how long did it take to heal? It didnt feel at the time that I did anything to major but now im not so sure.......

I've done roughly the same injury on Thursday. You'll just have to wait it out

If it was me i would go to the hospital or a doctors.

I crashed off a double, was a hard hit, shoulder was in aot of pain. I then drove home (100miles), next day thought it was best i went to A&E, 4 hours later broken collar bone and surgery required.

Are you sure its not your collarbone? can you lift you arm above your head? do you have full movement when raised?

If not, look up rotor cuff injuries and but ultimately get a professional opinion.

As above sounds like a rotor cuff injury or could be collar bone. if its still hurting and getting worse id get off to A&E soon as mate...

Dude that sucks!
remember when i first met you i told you about my shoulder?! thats what i have an rotor cuff injury, iv been in pain with mine for years but it depends on how badly you have hurt it and how you rest to recover it. I still hit the gym every day and i work as a scaffolder so mines got no chance to rest. you sort of get used to the pain but it does hurt and it comes and goes. Fingers crossed its not a rotor cuff injury and just some thing minor!!!

I managed to dislocate my shoulder and had it strapped up for three weeks after a snowboarding wipeout a few years ago which totally f####d my rotor cuff as you would expect as it totally seized up! Intensive physio and I mean doing it every two hours following physios advice ( weekly visits) building up movement then strength over several weeks allowed me to get back to the gym and snowboarding in 10 weeks. Take in lots of vit C as well , this helps the body heal. The shoulder is far stronger than the unhurt shoulder and never caused me any discomfort or pain afterwards.

I really hope it's a minor injury you have but get it diagnosed quick and professionally and you will recover 100% really quickly imo if you put in the effort.

Hope it all goes well.

Get it looked at and x rayed mate, collarbone breaks are quite a common and easy break.

I done mine about 5 years ago and had similiar problems. But if it was broken you'd know about it! you see the bone sticking up.

It is a rotar cuff injury, spoke to a friend who is a physio last night and she asked me where pain was coming from etc, I dont think anythings broken, Id know about it alot more, it does still ache alot, its not getting any easier or comfortable to move so should probably get it looked at.

Its just getting my arse in a docs to get it looked at, I hate going always feels like a waste of time..

Yea I can just not 100% movement, Also from the way my arm got jolted it was the rotar cuff that took brunt, there was no impact to my shoulder,

thanks for all the replies guys, will get myself in the docs later.
