Im having trouble using all the travel and getting the correct sag on my forks. Usually run them at about 100 psi with no problems but went over Bedgebury yesterday and after a couple of loops running at only 60 psi I was still no where near using the travel.
Is this just a case of they need servicing? They are 7 months old now and never been done.
Or is there a bigger issue here?
Any advice please.

Have you checked the setup with the manual?

Just need a service mate, prob best changing the seals aswell to skf ones. the new kashima coated forks use skf seals and they are alot more "slippery".
I done mine, cost about £23 for the seals of ebay, made a huge difference the the fork. Before the first 1.5 " used to be very sticky now they feel very plush.

Hope it is just a service.
just dawned on me that i had an off at danbury last weekend and had the problem since then so hope ive not damaged them.

What are they doing if you just push down on them, are they compressing to a certain point then locking up, wondering if this is an issue with the lockout maybe being partially stuck on ?

What forks are they?

Step 1 dude - take the air out, take off all compression and cycle them through their travel to see that you can still get full travel.

If you can without too much effort then thats good news.. let us know how they feel.

i just let all the air out and i could fully compress them to use all the travel with a bit of effort
pumped back up to 100psi and they are really tough to compress, can only get to about 1/4 of the travel pushing down on them and just sitting on the bike measuring the sag they hardly compress at all.

How much do you weigh? 100 psi is for 220lbs +. At what psi do you get the correct sag? Make sure ur setting the sag while up on the pedals balanced in the middle. Attack position or whatever they call it these days.

The dampening shouldn't affect the sag. Only the spring rate so It's probably just about getting that dialed.

I only run around 75 psi for 73 kg rider

Im 14st (196lb or 89kg) and im having to reduce it to 50psi to get 25% sag which i think is way too low.

At the recommended 90psi for my weight, im now only getting 15% sag.
i used to get 25% on 100psi.

Ok put 100psi in mine, with front brake on a had push down from the bars and this is how far the forks compress

Keith.. maybe your gauge on pump is incorrect....?

I advise getting a brand new Spicy, just to be on the safe side and a new shock pump
