I have for sale a shimano Alfine 8 speed internal gear hub, purchased august 2010 and the wheel builders are yet to do their courtesy truing on it so will pop it in before sale although straight as a dye.

I am selling fitted to an 823 mavic tubless rim with the shifter, fitting kit, centre lock disk and sprocket that all cost extra when you want to swap to alfine.

the whole lot cost well in excess of 400 including the wheel build. The build is stronger than standard as there is no 'dish' to the wheel.

Not going to buy, but out off interest, do these hubs shift better than a conventional cassette ?

The bonus is you dont have something hanging that has to move to shift. that means you can shift with any amount of crap on your bike/frame. so it shifts as well as a cassette but in any wether.
