Haha, i have to confess that its was cheap as i picked a paint from his 'left overs'! He just did a mates chopper for £550 ish. Guys name is Matt on 07795 374522 in great waltham. Tried to put pics of my bike and the chopper up but needs resizing and cant be fooked!!! Happy to email if anyone wants to see..

Private. He a mechanic that loves to fit big engines into small cars!!! He is early 20's and not long been self employed so happy for the 'advertising' at the mo. To be honest i found 2 small 'runs' on the frame, its not perfect but primer, 3 coats of colour and lacquer for £40, i am more than happy with. Post your email and send you a load of pics.

Pm'd So I spent over 4 hours this afternoon at my workplace stripping down, sanding, and sandblasting the parts, I have now learnt that newer nitromors is dog shite, no surprise with all these solvents laws nothing is good anymore and I used up the last of the old powerful stuff! So it did take a while but was well worth it the frame is very smooth and now chemically treated to protect the bare metal, excited to continue the project after im back from my holiday

A little update, Top coat of paint is on and has come out very well indeed! A 2k based chroma green, very similar to focus ST green so exactly what I was aiming for, Finish has come out pretty good and andy will be rebuilding the bike for me thursday, Decals are in the post and chain tensioner on its way, will deffo get some before and after pics up when its all finished

Just got my new Commencal Supreme in Com's sale and I'm going to have my Marzocchi's stripped and spayed the same colour (or very close), (place in Southend that I forget name of) and new decals are on their way from Germany

nice! Id love to do my forks but there is no way im stripping them things down, I stay well clear of the mechanical stuff like that

Ha..Ive done mine a few times, I must admit with mixed results but pretty much know understand the internals of Marzocchi 888's now, putting in soft springs for last trip to Morzine was one of the best things Ive ever done, it smooved away the braking bumps.

Stripping forks isn't so bad if it's just a colour change u could just mask it up

Id be very concerned about getting any paint stripper or sandblast under the seals, even with tape, its not full proof, especially as its now alot harder for me at work to remove large amounts of paint easily.

Yeah but would you really paint stripper a magnesium or alloy fork thats been powdered ? just use a 3m pad and knock it back as that will be the best base ever for a repaint if you're using celly or 2k !!

good point! As long as the primer is applied not too long after its been sanded down the primer should take with no issues, or as I do here, use an etch primer, would have to mask up all the indented branding on the forks, would look pants if you painted over it though I dont think that would be too much effort.

I've never used etch primer on powder, only ever used it on bare metal, might try that when i get the chance.

Well..mine will be fully stripped down and replacing seals so out they come, Ill leave the rest up to the spray place, last time I recall he did have slight concerns about magnesium but I said Id had forks done before and they used same paint as on the aluminium frame and it all came out fine..........although did notice later that the frame (Enduro) had crack on it so sold it for about £30 or something stupid !
