Was thinking, is it worth there being a pic and vid section on the forum. im pretty guilty of posting up lots of pics and have got a gopro coming so will be vids too soon

..

i know theres a fair few vids and pics poping up now days so was thinking the powers at be might think about adding a dedicated section for them then that could be archived in the gallery...

just a thought :mrgreen:

A video thread that is pinned is definately needed IMO, not sure about a pic thread as most pics relate to an event, outing, place or belong in the tech section ?

True, but Karve still has to spot the vids, pics and put them into the gallery.

yeah kind of what i was thinking, would be some were to band them all together rather than them being posted up in different section and then Karve can do what he wants with them ..

One thing i would say is that if you have vids or pics then the best place for them in is the thread for that ride... they will then come up in searches as relevant content. Posting to a generic video thread only, looses their context.

This is of course not relevant for vids that don't have a ride thread or are done over a period of time.

It would be good to have one place that I could go and forage for assets for the site. So if that thread is used in addition to posting them on the relevant ride thread then that's all good!

What got me thinking is content in the gallery is great to look at but as far as I know you can't comment on it or ask questions etc, also just having the media in the ride thread may cut down the chances of it being seen. For instance if someone posts up Epping ride Sunday and I'm not interested in going I prob won't read the thread before the ride and almost certainly won't read it a few days after the ride, but if there was a post up saying Epping vid Karve goes for a swim I'd defo watch that
