 Post subject: Which MTB shoe???

Hi all
I ride flats and have been wearing my vans for summer riding,but i.m after something a little more robust for the winter months ahead!.Wot do u guys wear?i usually ride trails like thorndon!
P.S just seen the new fiveten freerider in the latest issue of MTBUK any idears?

Winter? In this country? Avoid anything with mesh uppers....actually, add British summer to that comment too!

I use Shimano AM41's. No mesh, wipe clean (all over), nice and grippy and the laces are still reasonably white after 5 months wear. They also have a raised inner upper to protect the ankle bone.

Just replace the insole for something a little more moulded and comfortoable as the shoe sole is fairly rigid.

They are good for walking up slopes also.

I use FiveTen Line Kings. I like the padding of the bulky skate style shoes like the freerider, but the extra ankle support in the line kings is pretty nice if your planning on any big lines. And you cant beat FiveTen stealth rubber, so much traction! I had vans before my Five Tens and the improvement is incredible.

I popped into snow&rock for a quick peak in romford and looked at some mammut redburn hiking trainers,fit very well nice&light!also have a protecive toe&heel ! anyone heard or worn them???

Hi all,so bit the bullet went out to snow & rock in romford this morning and brought a pair of mammut redburn trail shoes!

mesh can be a sod for soaking up the wet stuff.

Lol i did look at the shimano's but not my cup of tea mate!,These mammut's are ultra comfortable with good all round protection!,p.s will probably be using these for every day use! :thumbup:
