Marco and I ventured up to Cannock on Tuesday and rode it in torrential rain, well we'd gone all that way. Anyway it completely destroyed both sets of brake pads on both bikes and the by product of riding through put holes 2 ft deep full of water washed my bb out ! the sand/grit combo up there is awful, be warned

To be honest i wasnt blown away by Cannock after reading good things and laughing at this
Quote:
we have good drainage so the trails remain rideable all year round
this is true the trails become rivers !!!

The black sections should be regraded to a lighter shade of grey, they're rubbish although they do make you slow down and think a little more than the rest of the trail, there are no in trail jumps so to speak of, just a few drops about a foot high, we found to decent sized jumps to far apart to be a double but the last one is right before a tight bermed corner so that kinda kills any chance of getting decent air off it.

had a good day though, was nice to ride some where different to the norm and the trails are technically uphill challenging.

most fun of the day was getting up to section 4 of the monkey trail, saying screw this and hitting the BLUE route right back down to the trail center at max speed with virtually no brakes. LOL

Ha...I rode down Pleney in heavy rain where paths and rivers became one, but I learnt alot and did improve my riding, especially confidence/braking/berms.

Did your BB create that nice crunchy gritty sound :) ?

Yeah it got totally washed out in a two foot deep pot hole on a corner, which may be a feature in the dry who knows ? and now its all grainy on the right and wobbly on the left LOL

I went to Llandegla recently, only a little further than cannock (about 45 mins) a load of fun, plenty of jumpy stuff and it feels like a big BMX track, Very rocky though, had a smile from ear to ear on the decents!
