The michelins have a good mud pattern but are too hard a compound to offer any actual grip

Does anyone know anything about this tyres?

They got good reviews and as I don't want to invest too much as I think I will not be using them too much over the winter, I'm considering to get them.

Depends on what sort of mud you have! a few guys were racing them over the weekend, grippy in loose sandy, wet type mud- rubbish (like most tyres) in the claggy clay type mud

Surely if you want some grip in the mud, then you should be thinking about 1.75 - 1.95 rather than 2.2 ??

I ran some Panaracer 1.95 for the Mountain Mayhem this year and they were clogged up before I'd even got to the transition area! - It really does depend on the type of mud and how fast you're rolling in order for them to clear.

If you can get hold of them, mountain king 2.4 Mk1's for thondon mud, i've tried most things over there and these and Mud X's are the best.

I took a punt and brought a pair of these http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/TYG ... lding_tyre as they were so dam cheep

Ended up using them on a very wet trip to wales and they coped amazingly with what ever i through at them. Nice profile they cut through 6inches of loamy mud at the forrest of dean really well and rode without squirming on the new all weather track. They are a pretty agressive pattern though, Id say half way between a swamp thing and a wetscream so they may become a ballache over a longer ride?

Thanks for all advice guys, as I'm very tight with money right now and really needing urgently to change my tyres I've just ordered a pair of these Geax Datura suggested by ggg. Let's see how they go, for £ 25 a pair is worth a try.

Also found a good review about them: http://jumble.pinkbike.com/blog/GeaxDaturareview.html

Post your feedback when you get them, itd be good to see what you think. I ran them with a pretty low pressure to give a flatter profile as i had them on mavic 721 rims. Wet rocks i found they gripped like it was dry but theyre a little squirmy on greasy roots, but thats spikes for you...
