Been thinking for a while about some winter riding in sunny spain and I know Karve and a few others have been there before and had a wicked time (see vid in gallery!) . Contacted the Switch Backs for some info as I didnt want to consider doing this if it was way out of my league, but sounds like its progressive stuff there. EM info below:-

'The tracks are more technical AM tracks on steroids, by this I mean they are not at all your typical DH tracks that are fast and wide with big air time. Instead they are narrow and slower and more techy with a very natural feel to them but with jumps and berms built into them. Mind any and all jumps can be avoided for the next run or the run after that down them. It means that anyone with DH aspirations or a little bit of DH experience like those of Let's Gets/ Morzine etc can get on with them über well:) they can also be ridden on 6" bikes no probs. They can be steep but I would say the only really challenging part of them is the looseness which catches everyone out but once you come to grips with the terrain you are way'

So sounding out if anyone interested for a November or possibly late January trip?? would be flying for this one too!

Pulled info below from the website, think the Saturday Malaga flights will be around £110 ish plus bike bag costs £27 each way now. Flight examples attached leaving London on 17th : http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Booking.mvc

•Switchbacks guided weeks for 2012 cost 675€
•600€ for returners or groups of 4 or more.
•475€ long weekend costs: includes 4 nights & 4 to 4. 5 days riding.
•425€ for returners or groups of 4 or more.
•Single/ few day trips available (contacts us for availability and prices)
•Costs include: FREE tuition, guiding, full-time vehicle shuttles and support, airport transfers, uber-villa with SKY TV, WIFI, laundry facilities, kitchen, salon, BBQ terrace, pool, gym, football pitch, secure bike storage etc.
•You will need all your regular riding kit plus elbow, knee/ shin pads, about €200 spending money, and INSURANCE – a proof of medical insurance covering you for mountain biking and/ or extreme sports just in case. No insurance – no riding! For European citizens this must be supplemented by a European Health Card available online

But you cant stay at whistler for that much, and you will also need a ski lift pass, not cheap, spoke to fella who took his bike to whistler, cost him 1500 pounds before he left.

Medical insurance , I know some get cheaper but i pay a little extra and get a top up for my existing annual policy from the company here, cost about £36 for 6 days cover , uour need to enter 'Downhill Mountain biking' : https://www.sportscoverdirect.com/activ ... -insurance
