I wouldn't want to be riding the bike when a stick goes through one of those holes, not to mention getting pebble dashed with all the stones getting flung in the air. They just look wrong on several levels.

Thats why they're developing sidewalls for them LOL the military have been using composite wheels like this and tire manuf have been developing them for cars too.
