I have been looking to pick up a workstand for a while.
I previously used a gutter loop from the ceiling to hang the bike from the seat, however my recent purchase of a reverb negates that option.
I had heard of this stand from the ALDI/LIDL deals but none were up and coming so i traced a retailer on ebay.

I have used it to service both my own bike and Brads beast of a bike and it holds them both no worries with no wobble.

All aspects are adjustable and it comes with a magnetic tool tray and a handlebar steady too.







Well worth the purchase.
as far as longevity is concerned i decided to go with this after chatting to Dan in Stanleybridgecycles who has been using one for two years in the shop with no problems.

Judging by the amount you paid I take it you didn't go for the 'New Look Folding Floor Stand'? I'm interested if it is worth paying the extra £3 for the newer version?

I've got one like nwmlarge and i'm not overly impressed with it :O(

the clamp doesnt seem to hold firm and the short bar with the clamp on it certainly doesn't clamp tight so the bike just rotates a fair bit to its balance point (nose down)

might just be mine though, its ok, just not brilliant i guess you get what you pay for ?

Hey petrolhead i just went for the normal folding work stand

the other one has quick release which didn't appeal to me as it means you'd have to faff if it was an odd size tube you were clamping.
my pitch has a triangle top tube but for the most part i would use it to clamp a seat post on other bikes so it is less hassle to use the type i bought.

sorry to hear that jon maybe it needs a right good nip up or the centre of gravity for your bike might be a bit far forward?

Your top clamp looks a little different, but my memory is shit so it may not be

I have one with the locking teeth and it is pretty good for putting the bike at odd angles. not sure the feet are spread wide enough on the one in you link Karve to tack the weight in those directions!

It looks like you can widen the legs out as much as you like by adjusting that bottom clamp , is that the case nwmlarge?

I am sure as soon as it is in essex the legs will spread!

Yes you can undo the clamp and open her legs right up

that toothed adjustable one has the QR head which i didn't want but might suit you if you don't have a dropper post

Just noticed, mine has a quick release head {phnaar ! )

That stand is the same styleas the Lidl one I have... and Yes the legs do extend more... not the lightest but you don't want something that will bend when placing your bike on it...
