I have/ had the same issue at chicky on the runs with my chain on my HT, every time i hit a bump it done the mexican wave an jammed up. Its a right royal pain in the arse!!!
Even on the DH run it was tripping me up. spent more time thinking about my chain jaming instead of the actual runs, .... :x
In the end it was the sun glare that had the last laugh :? and caused me to abandon ship half way down the duel.
Hope i dont suffer with this on next mondays trip to Jedi's manor.

LOL my chain skipped off once on the dual so i just stuck it on a larger cog up front to take up the slack and it never came off again all day.

Just adjust your gears to remove the slack

Perhaps the new Shimano Saint (and others) Shadow Plus would fix your chain bouncing probs ?. Lots of good reviews, Im tempted but it does require a big outlay, as you need new lever and casette as weel (assuming you arnt 10 speed alread), but as suggested, single chainring and chainguide will see you right, its surprisng how getting rid of litle niggles like this and noise/creaks greatly improves your riding pleasure :)

I think just learning to absorb bumps properly will help the most. Staying stuff legged will put all the force through the bike

Today at danbury was one of my favs so far me and cempa did some full runs then concentrated on certain sections that we normally loose speed on and managed to find our perfect lines through them! so a great learning session!.

i got nailed by a big fuck off fallen branch in the bottom of bomb hole after the table in full flight proper squeeky bum moment to see that there as i dropped into the hole full tilt!
