Hello mate I would be interested in coming along, however, whilst I am a confident MTBer, I am not particularly confident with big jumps etc. But am keen to start trying stuff out. Is Aston Hill going to be a bit too much or is a good place to refine skills?

I could be up for this.

I've been to Aston Hill a couple of times on my 140mm Zesty and tbh some of the DH trails are too much for this bike. I also realised I needed a full face and body armour which I don't have. Crashed a few times over the handle bars and was lucky not to injure myself.

There's some XC trails there which are fine, depends what everyone's riding though.

Also the Wendover woods are great XC which you can end up at Aston Hill to play on the trails.

I'll check back on the forum tomorrow to see if you chaps are still heading up.

Bonji

I was over there yesterday ( first time in 3-4 years) too. Surface to face was pritty good shame the the bad bits (very slippery bits) are where you are/need to be going some for the jumps. or are on the runouts for the drops. They could do with some french drains in those bits (if they aren't there already). And the other runs are the normal slippery roots (just the way i remember them). Either way its all go fun on a bike.
