Hi everyone
I am bursting to get out, ride and improve my skills with some other riders, problem is I don't know anyone. Can anyone suggest some rides which might be good for me to start with where I could come and get involved? . I have been looking for girls groups/rides but not having much luck. I am in Manningtree and happy to drive for one hour or so.
I have a good level of fitness and rearing to go!
Thanks
Emma

Hi Emma

theres plenty of group rides going on but the rain has slowed things some what, keep an eye in the ride sections of the forum and put your name down and join in, you will be made to feel welcome and know one gets left behind on ride..

your a fair way out from most of us but if you dont mind a drive then go for it, Thorndon is a popular destination and just off the A12, so about an hour or so from you..

ps there is some other girls on the forum, look out for Sarah and Liz..

cheers

Hi Emma,

Welcome!

Lots of the rides that take place on here tend to be further South - Danbury being closest - you just need to keep an eye on the forum and tag along. If you are looking to ride with other girls, Sarah (sarahcricklewood) and her mate Liz ride Danbury and Thorndon, although I've not seen Sarah on here for a little while.

I'm in Colchester and ride quite a bit in Suffolk and a bit in Essex. The closest good single track is probably Tunstall Forest - the guys that look after the trails in the forest there TROG have a regular ride on Sunday mornings of mixed abilities (and sexes!) which might suit you. http://www.trogmtb.com/. Alton Water is good for a quick blast when the weathers manky - I reckon you could ride there from Maningtree.

Maybe I should start posting up our colchester and north based rides...

Also a nice easy (smooth) 30 mile ride from braintree to stanstead and back on firetrack goes out quite often!
