Had a really good day today and pushed boundrys.... and also quashed the " hardtails make you a better rider" roumor......
First day out on my new full sus, and became a different rider all together.
Hardtails didnt do squat for me apart from hold me back.

BIG MANUAL.(could not do one on my hardtail even if you paid me)
Image
AIR TIME.(only ever used to drag the rear wheel on my hardtail)
Image
SMALL LADDER DROP.(never EVER! done any form of drop on my hardtail)
Image

HARDTAILS DO NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER RIDER "FACT".

It's all meant in jest, Muzza clearly didnt get on with his old bike, but he certainly does with his onew which is great, but you do see people riding all sorts of daft bikes and doing hairy stuff on them in all sorts of video's so i think the bike is the last in a chain of reasons.

point in case look at 2:37 onwards in this video.....

the bike seems to the least of their worries.....

Ha..backflips on a tiny bike..wonder if its easier ?

Now, surely the pump track is easier on a hardtail ?. I must admit I prefer my full suss but to be honest havnt ridden a hardtail much, although I normally try other peoples bikes and they feel very strange, must be just the way I have mine set up.

YOU make me laugh!!!! ......
quite clearly the bikes they use are jump/slope style. MADE FOR THE PURPOSE OF WHICH THEY INTEND TO USE !!! mine however is not. + anyone can dick about on a tiny bike. & if you have dirt jump skills then yes you can make it look pretty good. Everyone who has tried to argue my point has missed the point completely.
GEOMETRY. It plays key. build strength and components all play a roll as well...... IF you have a SHIT commuter bike with WANKY components and feel it will KILL YOU if you push your luck, how will that inspire you and make you a better rider..... :wtf: the only thing that piece of shite filled me with was dred. MAYBE!!!! if i bought a purpose built bike for the chosen style of riding that i follow.... who's still to say hardtails make you better. THE PROOF in on tape, 20 mins on a susser and im 100% better, faster & more confident... im the proof it dont work for all....

ps IN JEST OF COURSE. ;)

After watching that video I might take my Brompton to Danbury, actually, the Brompton has suspension so doesn't qualify as a hardtail....d'oh!

I kinda agree with muzza but maybe his new found confidence prob has 25% to do with the bike and 75% to do with being taught how to ride better with confidence at ukbikeskills skill session hence why id like to go on my shite hardtail.
either way happy days!
