Penmachno can be rocky I seem to remember a section around two thirds along an exposed bit which was quite rocky and bumpy, I've ridden the trail on both a ht and fs. When comparing Wales on ht vs. fs I always feel much less battered at the end of the day on a fs.

Mental.. Wasn't that rocky couple of years ago.. Was more single track some of it narrow, some of it a bit muddier than your usual welsh trail the last descent back to the car park a bit rooty with a couple of drop offs but compared to your usual typical welsh trail like the armoured stone pitching of cyb its more comparable to afan which don't have many rocks either..
