I was supposed to go to Danbury today 31/12/12 but it was pissing down at 8:00am and didn't fancy throwing myself down a muddy hill so i picked Marco up and suggested we head over to cyclopark to check it out as it's 'all weather'

It a good place, but its a bit open to the elements :problem: the gale force winds combined with general unhealthiness brought on by too much indulgence over xmas really took its toll on us !

The mtb circuit is about 3 miles long, its a nice little hard pack path which is a blue root for all to use, then you have red and black sections branching off the blue, the red consists of some nice rollers, too short to launch off which is a shame but good for pumping and the odd rock garden which on first attempts are a bit awkward so all good really. The black bits are mainly rock paths that are very hard to negotiate in the pissing rain !! quite technical but in bad weather a real pain in the ass  there are no big climbs (good!) but then there are no big decents (bad).

the skate park is good, the bmx track is awesome but was chained off, the pump track is smallish, designed for bmx but good fun non-the-less and superb for practising.

so if your xc route is under water its probably worth visit, i'll go back on a less windy day!

Cheers for that mate-still keen on giving this a go...sometime when the stars are in alignment and mother nature isn't being a total c*nt.

Maybe next weekend? Surely can't bust another set of saddle rails by then...and might help with this dry january thing.

Good to hear a report in it Jon. I thought it looked like wind might be an issue there

Yeah even toward the end of the pump track (its just a "U" shape) when you have built up speed travelling into the wind it was blowing us off course a bit LOL

The facilities are excellent, with changing rooms etc and a cafe
