Type 3 A C Separation. Told surgery not required. Being referred to physio after at least a week of resting it in a sling.

By all accounts reading up on the injury, will be up to 12 weeks until I'm on a bike properly. Depends on how I can accelerate recovery without jeopardising progress.

Apparently it's key to follow physio religiously.

I'll be stressing to the physio that I'm not just looking for sufficient recovery to be able to just function but want to make sure my leisure pursuits aren't limited.

Ev by AC i presume you mean acromioclavicular joint in your shoulder?
all being well there is no reason not to aim for your rehab to steer you back towards biking. Pretty meaty injury you must have done??
A non-surgical approach is the best way, and has great results with most people, rehabbed quite a few people with similar injuries, motocross etc. Just make sure you give all the other structures surounding it time to recover! then its a case of retraining muscles supporting your shoulder blade and the gleno-humeral joint.

Wish you a speedy recovery though

don't know how much you read but normally direct my patients to a website called shoulderdoc.co.uk, most find it educational at least. Should be a few sections on ACJ injuries
